LOS ANGELES - Tom McDonald, a former New York Times reporter who left the news business in 1961 to serve as a special assistant and press secretary under two state attorney generals and six Los Angeles County district attorneys, has died. He was 74.
McDonald died in his Los Angeles home after a long illness.
