Northern District U.S. Attorney Melinda Haag to step down

In a surprise move, U.S. Attorney Melinda L. Haag announced Wednesday she will resign after five years on the job.

SAN FRANCISCO - In a surprise move, U.S. Attorney Melinda L. Haag announced Wednesday
she will resign after five years on the job.


Haag, 53, said her resignation takes effect Sept. 1 and that she plans to spend time
with family, according to office spokesman Abraham Simmons.
