Pipeline operator faces sixth possible suit in Santa Barbara spill

The city of Santa Barbara has hired outside counsel to explore a lawsuit against Plains All American Pipeline LP, the operator connected with spilling more than 100,000 gallons of crude into the waters off Refugio State Beach on May 19.

The city of Santa Barbara has hired outside counsel at Baron & Budd PC to explore
a lawsuit against Plains All American Pipeline LP, the operator connected with spilling
more than 100,000 gallons of crude into the waters off Refugio State Beach on May
19. The Santa Barbara City Council approved the move on Tuesday.
