Public Defenders Rally to Oppose Budget Cuts

Federal judge Thelton E. Henderson was set to deliver the keynote speech at a San Francisco conference organized to discuss cuts to public defenders’ offices. But, he withdrew as a speaker following a call from Washington, D.C., warning him not to use his position to involve himself in anything political.
