Ex-Endocare Exec Gets Five Years for Securities Fraud

An Orange County biotech executive was sentenced to five years in prison Thursday but was not required to repay as much as $15 million in legal fees and other costs to the company he led.

LOS ANGELES - Having just been sentenced to 60 months in prison, Paul Mikus dashed through the 10th floor hallway of the Santa Ana federal courthouse on Thursday morning to the elevators.

"Thank you," the thin and bald Mikus, dressed in a neat gray suit, told prosecutor Andrew Stolper.
