U.K. Businesses Welcome Privacy-Law Interpretation

FSA gave the first significant judicial interpretation of the Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act"), and provided some much-needed clarification of its scope. Before this judgment, legal advisers were compelled to adopt a literal reading of the act, despite the onerous compliance obligations that might result.
