Anaheim to ask voters to cast aside at-large elections

The city has settled a two-year challenge to its at-large election system and will let voters decide whether to usher in a district-based model.

Anaheim voters will decide in November whether to scrap the city's at-large election system in favor of a six-district model, according to the terms of a settlement announced late Tuesday. The deal puts an end to a two-year legal challenge under the California Voting Rights Act that cost the city $1.2 million.
