Requests for new trial in Toyota sudden acceleration case

Multiple requests for a new trial, plus a subsequent lawsuit, have been filed following a case in which a jury vindicated Toyota Motor Corp.

Three months after a Los Angeles jury cleared Toyota Motor Corp. of wrongdoing in the first sudden acceleration case to go to trial in California, the losing sides are asking the judge for a new trial.


Meanwhile, a driver found liable for the accident at the heart of the case is also suing her lawyers and insurance company after she was hit with a $10 million verdict.
