Pasadena attorneys receive lifetime achievement awards

Thomas P. Beck, founding partner of Pasadena-based Thon Beck Vanni Callahan & Powell PC, and Gloria S. Pitzer, a partner at Palermo, Barbaro, Chinen & Pitzer LLP, received lifetime achievement awards at the Pasadena Bar Association's annual holiday party on Dec. 5. Members of the Pasadena Bar nominate and vote for recipients of the award, which honors those who have shown a strong commitment to serving the community. To be eligible, individuals must have been members of the Pasadena Bar for at least five years. Beck, a personal injury trial lawyer, has served on and done work for various boards and organizations, including the San Miguel school board, Loyola Law School's board of overseers and the St. Thomas More Society Los Angeles. Pitzer, a certified estate planning specialist, has served as president of numerous organizations, including Union Station Homeless Services, Hemophilia Foundation of Southern California and the University Club of Pasadena. — Andrew McIntyre
