Toyota to begin settlement talks next month

Toyota Motor Corp. will begin negotiating with hundreds of plaintiffs suing the automaker in state and federal court over alleged unintended acceleration in the company's vehicles.

State and federal judges have ordered Toyota Motor Corp. and hundreds of plaintiffs suing the automaker over unintended acceleration claims to begin an "intensive settlement process" in January, according to court documents.
