Legal administrators, firm partners gather for holiday luncheon

More than 40 legal administrators and partners from Orange County law firms gathered on Dec. 3 at the Center Club in Costa Mesa for a holiday luncheon hosted by the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators. At the event, the group presented a check for $12,000 to the Orange County Foundation for Oncology Children and Families, a charity that provides support activates to pediatric cancer patients. The check was unveiled during the luncheon by the foundation's former executive directors, Karen Jones and Neil Barbour, both of whom are parents of children with cancer. Guests donated more than a hundred toys and gifts to the foundation. The luncheon also featured motivational speaker Larry Alford II, a nationally ranked junior golfer, who spoke to the group about overcoming adversity. Alford lost his left arm in an automobile accident but continued his pursuit of competing professionally on tour. He went on to make 21 holes in one with a prosthetic arm that his stepfather designed specifically for golf. — Alexandra Schwappach
