Paper Isn't Liable in Search of Cat Breeder

LOS ANGELES - While it may be liable on other claims, a newspaper that assigned one of its reporters to cover a Humane Society raid on an Ojai cat breeder's house is not liable for violating the breeder's Fourth Amendment rights, a federal appeals court has ruled.
