Custody Deserves Privacy

Forum Column - By Fred Silberberg - Court files regarding paternity cases are confidential in our court system. Files regarding custody disputes between married people, however, are not confidential. This double standard should be discontinued. Society has changed, and providing confidentiality in one instance but not the other is unfair to children and has potential long-term negative ramifications.
