Kukkonen works as outside patent counsel to the San Jose-based Fair Isaac Corp., creator of the FICO score, which measures consumer credit risk.


He helped Fair Isaac get patents for its data transaction and fraud detection software.


"If someone steals your credit card, their fraud detection technology can trigger alerts to ensure that banks aren't paying for fraudulent transactions," he said.
