Newark drugmaker rejects rival's takeover overtures

The wave of consolidation currently sweeping the pharmacecutical industry crested over California again this week with the news that Horizon Pharma PLC had put forward a $3 billion unsolicited buyout offer for its smaller rival, Depomed Inc.
