Revenge porn purveyors soon face new consequences
California's new revenge porn law goes into effect July 1. The law will address some of the shortcomings of its predecessors.
"Revenge porn" may be a new addition to our vocabulary, but vengeful ex-lovers have been around for ages. Smartphone cameras, videos and file-sharing applications have simply given jilted lovers a new weapon - one that has the devastating potential to destroy another's privacy, dignity and reputation before an audience of millions.
