Audit suggests State Bar dues too high

In a biennial report mandated by statute, the state auditor also criticized the regulatory body for not disciplining lawyers consistently or reporting its backlog of discipline cases completely.

California lawyers may be paying too much in dues as the State Bar collects more than
it spends on operational costs, the state auditor said Thursday.


In a biennial report mandated by statute, the auditor also criticized the regulatory
