MTA Payment Cannot Erase Family's Pain
LOS ANGELES - A Los Angeles probate commissioner Wednesday approved the largest personal injury settlement to date by the Metropolitan Transit Authority, permitting the board to pay $5.5 million to the family of a baby born severely brain damaged after the mother was struck by a bus failing to yield the right of way.
