Obama nominates LA federal judge to 9th Circuit
President Barack Obama has nominated U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Hong-Ngoc Nguyen of Los Angeles to serve on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. Nguyen, 45, is the first Vietnamese-American on the federal bench.

President Barack Obama has nominated U.S. District Judge Jacqueline Hong-Ngoc Nguyen of Los Angeles to serve on the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
Nguyen, 45, is the first Vietnamese-American on the federal bench.
The nomination was announced by the White House Thursday, the same day the circuit made known the death by cancer of Circuit Judge Pamela Ann Rymer of Pasadena.
