Circuit Judge Pamela Ann Rymer, who as a young law student campaigned for GOP presidential candidate Barry Goldwater and later served as a moderate independent on the bench, died of cancer Wednesday, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals announced Thursday. She was 70.
Rymer was diagnosed in 2009 and had been in failing health in recent months. She died with friends at her bedside, the circuit said. <...
