Chief justice rails about bill

LONG BEACH - Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye has come out swinging against legislation that would strip the Judicial Council of much of its authority over local trial courts.


Giving her first speech to the California Women Lawyers group Thursday evening, Cantil-Sakauye sharply criticized the methods and timing of the bill.
