Latham advises on $6 billion generic drug deal

The combination of Watson Pharmaceuticals and Actavis Group would create the world's third-largest generic pharmaceutical company.

PALO ALTO - Orange County partners with Latham & Watkins LLP helped Watson Pharmaceuticals buy Actavis Group for $5.9 billion in a deal announced Wednesday.


The combination of New Jersey-based Watson with Swiss drug maker Actavis would create the world's third-largest generic pharmaceutical company behind Israel-based Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and Switzerland-based Novartis AG.
