Popularity of municipal bonds is on the rise once again

Let's hope that the strength in municipal bond performance will sustain and lead to an increase in municipal bond issuances, because it would be a benefit to all of our communities. By Marc Bauer

An article in the March 2 edition of the Wall Street Journal, titled "Municipal Bonds Regain Popularity," by Al Yoon, discusses the resurgence of investor demand for municipal bonds. The article notes that some fund managers believe that the strength in municipal bond performance "has more to do with meager bond issuance rather than an improvement to municipalities' fiscal outlook."
