Hogan Lovells, law schools team up for IP event
Hogan Lovells LLP partnered with UC Hastings College of the Law and the UC Berkeley Center for Law and Technology to host an all-day seminar Feb. 24 on intellectual property law in the global marketplace. Keynote speaker Randall R. Rader, chief judge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, shared his thoughts on key patent issues, including the stakes in two U.S. Supreme Court cases, the Federal Circuit's decision in a contentious software patent matter and his interactions with judges in different countries. Other speakers included Judge Sung-Mei Hsiung of the Taiwan Intellectual Property Court and Frank Wu, the chancellor and dean of the UC Hastings law school. — Kevin Lee
