Last week, the 2nd District Court of Appeal, Division Four, certified for publication a decision reversing an arbitration award of $1.3 million in favor of the plaintiff law firm. Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton LLP v. J-M Manufacturing Co. Inc., 2016 DJDAR 1051 (Jan. 29, 2016). At issue was $1.3 million in outstanding attorney fees that the firm was previously awarded through fee arbitration with the firm's former client, J-M Manufacturing Co.
