On May 15, I joined representatives of Kaiser Foundation Hospitals, the American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California, Public Counsel, the Union Rescue Mission, the Los Angeles City Council and the Los Angeles Police Department to announce that my office had reached a settlement with Kaiser Foundation Hospitals -the nation's largest HMO - involving its discharge of homeless patients.
