Judge Rejects Bid to Dismiss Case Against Brocade Chief

Gregory Reyes, former chief of Brocade Communications Systems Inc., lost his last chance Wednesday to have the criminal stock-options backdating case against him thrown out before trial. U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer rejected a bid by Reyes’ attorney to dismiss the indictment because the accounting rules governing stock-options grants are “fundamentally unclear.”
