Legislator seeks end to California's for-profit prisons

A bill to phase out state contracts with for-profit prisons by next year and end their use by 2028 has been introduced in the Legislature.

A bill to phase out state contracts with for-profit prisons by next year and end their use by 2028 has been introduced in the Legislature.

With AB 1320, Assemblyman Rob Bonta, D-Oakland, said he wants to end the private prison industry in California.
