It's Alive!
By Don J. DeBenedictis Yes, Virginia, there really is a State Bar. Contrary to popular opinion, it did not expire when then-Gov. Pete Wilson vetoed its dues bill two years ago. It suffered a near-death experience, perhaps - laying off 500 out of 700 employees and turning off the 1-800 lines is no mere efficiency move - but it is reviving.
