Innovative Invention New Bill Slated to Reform Patent System By Brennan Swain, David Meyer and Rod S. Berman On May 26, the House Judiciary Committee unanimously approved HR1907, the American Inventors Protection Act of 1999. A revised version of the bill, now known as HR2654, then met little resistance in the House of Representatives, where it was passed 376-43 on Aug. 5. If it becomes law, the act would significantly modify the nation's patent system.
