Rampart Attorneys Lash Out

As the first three officers charged in the Rampart scandal pleaded not guilty Monday, their attorneys went on the offensive, accusing prosecutors of creating an atmosphere of "hysteria" and treating scandal whistle- blower Rafael Perez like a "rock star," complete with the code name "Elvis."
