Renfrew Reviews Examiner Editorial Policies

SAN FRANCISCO - Respected former U.S. District Judge Charles Renfrew was named Wednesday by Hearst Newspapers to conduct an internal review of the editorial policies at the San Francisco Examiner in the wake of embarrassing admissions that the paper used its editorial page as a bargaining chip to win Mayor Willie Brown's support for the merger of the city's two main newspapers.
