Advocate Uses Own Time in Foster Care To Help Other Kids
On a day like any other, 6-year-old Andrew Bridge was walking by himself along Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood. "I remember it with considerable clarity," Bridge said recently. "A police car drove up beside me, and the policeman rolled the window down. He asked if my name was Andy, and then he asked me to get in. We drove to the motel where [my mother and I] were staying at the time. There was a social worker there waiting for me."
