A San Diego County Superior Court judge's novel ruling said pet animals sold at Petco are considered products.

In what is being called an unprecedented ruling, a San Diego County judge has allowed a product defect case to proceed against Petco after a diseased rat bought at one of its stores fatally bit a child.
