California legal economy sheds jobs while national market improves

The California and national legal markets are trending in opposite directions in terms of employment. The state's legal economy hit the lowest employment level in a year, with 133,800 jobs filled. On the national stage, employment in the legal industry hit the highest level in two years, with 1,125,800 jobs occupied, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
