Los Angeles Judge Was Civil Rights Activist

LOS ANGELES - Services will take place in Long Beach today for retired Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Harry T. Shafer. Shafer, who was known as a civil rights activist and a humanitarian throughout his 50-year legal career, died Saturday at his Long Beach home after a two-year battle with cancer. He was 92.
