SAN FRANCISCO - Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Terry B. Friedman, a former state assemblyman, has been elected the 74th president of the California Judges Association.

Friedman, 55, was chosen by the organization's executive board in June to serve a one-year term beginning Sept. 11. He will replace Sacramento Superior Court Judge James Mize.
