Wildlife Refuge Sues County to Allow Media on Property

A Los Angeles refuge for wild and exotic animals filed a lawsuit May 19 claiming First Amendment violations. The Wildlife WayStation, where 600 animals live, claims that a Los Angeles Fire Department order issued September 2001 prohibiting anyone except those who care for the animals from going onto the land violates its civil rights because the order includes the media.
