San Fernando Valley bar honors Mandela legacy

The San Fernando Valley Bar Association penned a resolution honoring former South African President Nelson Mandela, which representatives presented to South African Consul-General Cyril S. Ndaba at the South African Consulate General in Los Angeles on Monday. Bar association President Adam Grant, a partner at Encino-based Alpert Barr & Grant, and past president Richard A. Lewis of Woodland Hills-based Law Offices of Richard A. Lewis delivered the proclamation, which states that the bar association "recognizes Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela for his commitment to the rule of law during his Presidency of the Republic of South Africa, and its equal application to all South Africans regardless of race, color or national origin." Ndaba will deliver the resolution to the Nelson Mandela Centre for Memory in Houghton, South Africa. — Kylie Reynolds
