Judge, litigator lauded at Beverly Hills bar event
The Beverly Hills Bar Association honored a pair of legal luminaries at the group's litigation awards dinner Feb. 19 at the Montage Beverly Hills. Michael Nash, presiding judge of Los Angeles County Superior Court's juvenile division, took home the organization's Ronald M. George Award for Judicial Excellence, while Browne Greene, a founding partner of Santa Monica-based Greene Broillet & Wheeler LLP, received its Excellence in Advocacy Award. Nash's accomplishments in 24 years on the juvenile court include creating drug courts, protocols on the use of psychotropic medication on children and the Adoption Saturday initiative, now a national program in which courts in all 50 states participate annually. Greene was recognized for his long success as a litigator, including amassing numerous seven- and eight-figure verdicts in cases involving medical malpractice, products liability and police misconduct. — Jason Armstrong
