High Court Justice Adopts Niece

California Supreme Court Justice Carlos R. Moreno and his wife, Christine, adopted their 14-year-old niece Friday. They've been foster parents to the girl for nine years.

California Supreme Court Justice Carlos R. Moreno and his wife, Christine, adopted their 14-year-old niece Friday during a ceremony at the Edmund D. Edelman Children's Court in Monterey Park.

The Morenos have been foster parents to Heather for the past nine years, making sure she gets the services and benefits available to her because she suffers from autism and other cognitive disabilities.
