Alter Jury Trials to Improve Court Productivity

Attorney Richard Chrystie says operation costs would be cut if there were no jury trials for minor offenses and no requirement for non-unanimous verdicts.

I read with interest the Guest Column by Judge Charles W. McCoy Jr. in the Dec.1, 2009 Daily Journal regarding the proposed $2 billion cut in the court budget. He is quite right that such a cut will cripple our civil justice system and will affect the criminal justice system as well.
