DA Seeks Stiffer Penalties for Evading Officers

Los Angeles County District Attorney Gil Garcetti on Wednesday said the time has come to stiffen penalties for felony and misdemeanor vehicle code violations of evading peace officers. The number of convictions for such crimes, which have become a frequent news media diet, are soaring, Garcetti said.
