Vista's Pan Pacific Retail Properties has announced that it will pay $440 million to acquire its rival, Western Properties Trust of Emeryville.

        Vista's Pan Pacific Retail Properties has announced that it will pay $440 million to acquire its rival, Western Properties Trust of Emeryville.
        Both Pan Pacific and Western Properties are real estate investment trusts focusing on neighborhood shopping centers. The deal will make Pan Pacific the largest REIT of its kind on the West Coast and the fourth largest in the country.
