Marvin N. Shapiro, a career workers' compensation attorney with a penchant for comedy and performance, died Nov. 2 of cancer. He was 77.
Throughout his life, Shapiro followed a tenant taught to him by his immigrant parents: Never refuse a beggar. Regardless of where he was or how many people asked, he would always give money, said longtime colleague David A. Rosen.
