Top September Deals
September showed some signs of life in the mergers and acquisitions realm, nearly doubling the total receipts from a sluggish August for California’s top 10 deals. With help from telecom, manufacturing and energy moves, last month saw $8 billion worth of transactions at the top. As one partner at a leading firm put it, "things are looking better and better every day."




1. Skadden, Latham Assist - Dallas-based Metro PCS Communications bought Leap Wireless of San Diego for $5.1 billion.
