Runoff in store for LA DA race

Chief Deputy District Attorney Jackie Lacey landed approximately 32 percent of the vote to win the primary.

The Los Angeles County district attorney's race took an unexpected turn after Chief Deputy District Attorney Jackie Lacey landed approximately 32 percent of the vote to win the primary. Although that number is not enough to secure an outright victory - a November runoff will be necessary - it was a sizeable lead over the other five candidates in the field.
