Malibu courtroom closure a mistake

The recent state austerity measures resulted in the state court administration proposing to close one courtroom in each courthouse in Los Angeles County.


In large courthouses like Santa Monica or Airport (near LAX), where there are many courtrooms, this makes sense. If, for example, you have 11 courtrooms and you close one, the remaining 10 need only absorb a small percentage of cases caused by the closure.
