34.5 percent of applicants pass February bar exam

The results represented the lowest success rate on the winter test in eight years and the State Bar said it is determined to address the problem of declining pass rates.

Just 34.5 percent of prospective lawyers who took the February bar exam passed, the lowest success rate on the winter test since 2009, the State Bar announced Friday evening.

It was the fourth straight year the passing rate declined on the test that draws more repeat takers than the July exam.
