After nearly a year as a judicial nominee in the Northern District of California, William H. Orrick III's wait to join the federal bench is almost over.

After nearly a year as a judicial nominee in the Northern District of California, William H. Orrick III's wait to join the federal bench is almost over.


The Senate announced a consent agreement late Thursday on Orrick's confirmation, indicating a filibuster from the Republican minority is unlikely, and he just needs a simple majority of more than 50 Senators to confirm him.
